I shot this scene a little earlier than I usually do, quite a bit of time before sunset, however, it gave me great dappled light across the foreground giving this almost unreal image, I love the composition here and will be heading back during sunrise when I get the time.

I caught this stunning sunset at Great staple tor during a cloudy evening, I didn't have much hope, but around 20mins after sunset, the sky just turned this great deep red, I have been to this location so many times to capture a red sky. Finally, it happened :)

Star trails at Great Staple Tor
've always fancied doing a Milkyway shot at great staple tor and this Christmas I got the chance, after a 45min drive and 25min trek to the tor, which is a bit cold and eerie when its pitch black I thought star trails would work well, This image contains around 80 images stitched together to make a final image covering 40mins of star movement with Polaris positioned in the center

Bowermans nose on the Dartmoor national park, legend relates that a huntsman called Bowerman lived on the moor about a thousand years ago. When chasing a hare he and his pack of dogs unwittingly ran into a coven of witches, overturned their cauldron and disrupted their ceremony. They decided to punish him, and the next time he was hunting, one of the witches turned herself into a hare, and led both Bowerman and his hounds into a mire. As a final punishment, she turned them to stone - the dogs can be seen as a jagged chain of rocks on top of Hound Tor, while the huntsman himself became the rock formation now known as Bowerman's Nose.

When chasing a hare he and his pack of dogs unwittingly ran into a coven of witches, overturned their cauldron and disrupted their ceremony. They decided to punish him, and the next time he was hunting, one of the witches turned herself into a hare, and led both Bowerman and his hounds into a mire. As a final punishment, she turned them to stone - the dogs can be seen as a jagged chain of rocks on top of Hound Tor, while the huntsman himself became the rock formation now known as Bowerman's Nose.

6201 Princess express
Not quite a landscape shot but I love old industry, this is 6021 Princess express, quite a famous train sill in use today taking passengers on the main line from London to Penzance.
You can tell the train had just had a new load of coal since the smoke is so black, probably to due to the steep gradients of the Devon hills.

I had wanted to see the WW1 poppy installation at the Hoe in Plymouth for some time, Luckily I had a window the week before it disappeared!! The installation consisted of round 5000 ceramic poppies.
